June 2, 2003 - The online magazine "Robot Science & Technology" has published a very important piece of news:
"Many folks have wondered about the Predator systems used in Afghanistan and Iraq. Yes, they carry Hellfire rockets, but no, they do not operate autonomously. CIA refused comment, but a CIA watcher told me he seriously doubts if they have any autonomous killing systems yet".
Frankly speaking we were surprised with some news that during the active operations in the conflict zone the Predator operated autonomously. To our knowledge, the autonomous mode, both of this, and of other American military robots until now don't meet the minimal requirements of the US officials. While the number of broken/ lost planes during test-flights already is more then ten.
